'Inside the Snowstorm'

I can see the dim Yellow street lights fade as the vicious snow attacks the quiet world through the frosty window. The wind whistles as it whips each snowflake in every which way. Dark wicked creatures lurk down every alley, street and boulevard vandalizing everything in its path. Although the night sky isn’t anywhere to be found the misty clouds continue to force the snow upon our world. My courage forces me to step into the storm and take the risk. As I close the back door behind me the mysterious wind wrenches me out towards the center of this black monster. One foot at a time I step with confidence even though my vision is blurred by the massive amount of piercing snow that ambushes me. My long golden hair whips in terror as the forceful gusts of wind attack. As I unsteadily enter the eye of the storm my head jolts straight up. Hair still flipping uncontrollably, eyes glued shut and hand on my beating heart I shove my arm straightforward and fall to my knees; good-bye world.

'Optimism'
Beep, Beep! I wake up to the horrid screams of my dusty old alarm clock my brain condenses into a petite blob of unproductive mush. Although I hurriedly slip into my raggedy black denim jeans and faded black sweatshirt, I’m dreading the second I walk out the front door to vigorously ambush the new day. As I leisurely step into the fresh day a thin ray of sun snags a slight grin across my face. Throughout the lyrics of the song, “Don’t quit! Not Quite!” by the rising band ‘HeyHiHello’ you will realize that any unpleasant situation can be turned in the blink of an eye.

Although different people can be stopped by the same situation it can affect you differently depending on how you handle it. Conflicts can be considered giant road blocks throughout the path of your life. One may think of the most positive loop hole to the situation while others may think of the worst. Throughout the song Jacob Andrews shares a gloomy idea followed by a positive thought such as “You know it's a cloudy day here; spring will be well worth the wait.” Although he is speaking of an ominous day he optimistically states that each dim period of time will make the next occasion of bliss even more extraordinary. Not every bad event that occurs in your life should bring you down because of the fact that every cloud has a silver lining.
Even though one may run into a road block in life it does not mean that everything will tragically come to an end. Your glass may be half empty but that doesn’t mean it can’t be half full.
'A Serenade of Hope'  As the deep dark night washes over our chaotic world I slowly sit down on the very edge of the black marble piano bench. I start playing a sweet yet bitter serenade by pushing away my fears and feeling the emotional music through my broken soul. While swaying on the cold hard bench I plunge my feet up and down on the shiny brass pedal to create a beautiful legato sound. Inhaling deeply while exhaling with precision I cry, I cry tears of joy!
